This is one of my favourite shots from my trip down under and yet it might never have existed. I was intending to photograph the harbour but when I turned round I was great by this amazing sight. The summer sun was setting and the sky had turned this rich pink and purple so full of character and life that I had to abandon photographing the harbour and focus on this fantastic image.

This is one of my favourite shots from my trip down under and yet it might never have existed. I was intending to photograph the harbour but when I turned round I was great by this amazing sight. The summer sun was setting and the sky had turned this rich pink and purple so full of character and life that I had to abandon photographing the harbour and focus on this fantastic image.

This view is often missed in photography, we have the famous Sydney Tower with its high observation deck to the left across to the towers that make up the main business area of the city. This image was taken from the edge of Sydney harbour at the end or the botanical gardens as the sun set on an amazing summers day.

The harbour bridge and opera house which are more normally photographed would be just off to the right but I think it was well worth pointing the camera in the opposite direction to grab this great shot.
