Al Fahidi Fort built in 1787 in Dubai, the fort of Dubai is one of the oldest standing structures in the city. More than 90% of Dubai today has been built in the last forty years but the fort has been standing for several hundred years. It is now used to house the museum of Dubai in the city centre area, often missed by modern tourists who head straight for the modern malls in the city.
