HDR or High Dynamic Range involves combining three images that are identical but are set at three different exposures. This allows you to capture more detail and range than would otherwise be possible. This is a perfect example of what is achievable from this technique, there is so much depth and detail in this image that you can stare at it for hours and still find yourself absorbing more and more from the photograph.
